Pet Vaccinations at Mokena Animal Clinic
Here at our Mokena veterinary animal clinic, we offer core and non-core vaccinations for cats and dogs. Pet vaccines from our animal doctor can help prevent serious illnesses and diseases in your pet. We treat patients from the following surrounding areas: New Lenox, Frankfort, Homer Glen, and Orland Park.
Core Dog Vaccines with our Mokena Veterinarian
Core dog vaccines are recommended for every dog, regardless of whether they spend the majority of their time inside or outside. Our New Lenox veterinarian can vaccinate your puppy, adult dog or senior dog against rabies, parvovirus, and hepatitis. It is important to note that rabies vaccinations are required by law. You can start vaccination your dog as early as six to eight weeks of age.
Preventative Animal Care with Non-Core Dog Vaccines
Non-core dog vaccines are recommended for dogs that are deemed high-risk. High-risk dogs are generally dogs that spend a majority of their time outside or around other dogs, including while being kenneled or at the dog park. Preventative New Lenox animal care vaccines include adenovirus, parainfluenza, kennel cough, leptospirosis, coronavirus and Lyme disease.
Other Preventative Care Measures from our Orland Park Veterinarian
In addition to vaccines, you may want to consider preventative medications for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. If you have questions about how to keep your dog healthy or you need preventative medications for external and internal parasites, our Orland Park veterinarian would be happy to talk with you and determine the best preventative medications for your pet.
Core Cat Vaccines with our Mokena Veterinarian
Core cat vaccines are recommended for all cats, regardless of their lifestyles. Core vaccines from our Mokena vet include rabies, which is required by law and must be kept up-to-date, feline distemper and herpes. The vaccination process for cats can start as early as six weeks of age.
Preventative Animal Care with Non-Core Cat Vaccines
Non-core cat vaccines provide preventative Orland Hills animal care for high-risk cats. If your cat lives with other cats, is frequently let outside or frequently kenneled, you may want to talk to our Tinley Park veterinarian about non-core cat vaccines, which include FeLV and kennel cough.
Pet Vaccination Schedules
In puppies and kittens, vaccinations can be started between the ages of six and eight weeks. Vaccinations in older pets can be started at any time. Most vaccinations require yearly boosters or boosters every three years. Our vet can help determine your pet's vaccine schedule in order to provide the best Homer Glen care.
